Exhaust filters for oil-lubricated pumps
Vacuum pump oil mist separators
If your pump is smoking, using oil quickly, or leaving oil near the exhaust, the oil mist separator is the first part to check. Sarovee helps match replacement separators by pump model, dimensions, or part number.
Signs the separator is failing
White or blue smoke from the exhaust
Oil droplets or wet residue near the outlet
Pump running hotter than usual
Oil level dropping faster than normal
Backpressure or noisy exhaust flow
What to replace with it
Do not replace the separator in isolation if the oil is old or dirty. A new separator can clog quickly when contaminated oil is left in the pump.
The usual service set is oil mist separator, oil change, exhaust housing gasket, and air filter inspection. If the pump has been smoking heavily, also check the oil return line and gas ballast setting.
Used on oil pumps
Common in Busch R5, Becker U-series, and similar oil-lubricated rotary vane pumps.
